Softwash
Softwashing is 100% safe for your roof IF the right people are doing it. Softwashing is an effective method for cleaning roofs because unlike traditional pressure washing, softwashing uses low pressure and a mixture of chemical cleaning solutions that remove algae, moss, and other debris. This process does not cause damage to the roof and it is approved by roofing manufacturers so that it will not affect your roof’s warranty.
The results will last for 1 to 3 years, depending on weather and precipitation in your area.
Prepare for the softwash by moving any furniture/electronics/appliances out of areas that may catch spray or dripping from the cleaning solutions and water. If there is anything built into the home exterior such as a “Ring” doorbell camera, we recommend tying a bag or protective cover around it.
For protecting plants, we overspray plants with normal water to dilute any potential chemicals. To go one step further, we also use a product called “Plant Protect” to neutralize the effects of our cleaning solutions, should they touch your plants.
Pressure Washing
Absolutely. Pressure washing can cause severe damage to the exterior of a home if the person using high water pressure is inexperienced or uneducated on the process.
Traditional pressure washing results typically last about 8 months to a year. However, when we pressure wash driveways, walkways, etc. we also use our softwash solutions which brighten, clean, and protect, as well as add an additional year or two to the spectacular visual results.
Similar to softwashing services, move any items away from the work/spray area, cover any items that cannot be moved, and point out to the wash technician any areas that may be cause for concern so that we can figure out the best way to provide the cleaning without causing any damage.
